Moose safari in the wild Tiveden Sweden

Join in on a real moose safari in the forests of Tiveden! We start with dinner out in the woods by the campfire where you get to learn more of the moose. Followed by a walk through moose territory where we look for track. Finally we go safari to look for moose.

The moose – the king of the swedish forest is our focus of attention during the evening. You will also get to learn more about the moose, it´s life and habitats. As well as how you improve your chances to find it. Did you know that the moose bull drops it´s antlers each year and new one´s grow the next year? Or that the moose has a very developed sense of hearing? That and a lot more you will learn more about, and also to sound and to call for moose.

The guided tour starts out in the forest by our camp, where you enjoy a dinner by the campfire. During the meal you will get exiting know-how of the moose and be able to ask all types of questions. Full and satisfied we head out on a easy and short walk to experience the realm of the moose. We follow their tracks in the marsh. Look for sundew and cloudberries. Visiting the beautiful pond of Tranquility.

Finally we head back to camp for the safari looking for the king of the Swedish forest.

Beaver Safari in Tiveden Sweden

The tour is made with canoe and on land. Our guide is a professional canoe guide with all safety knowledge and courses. A simple and tasty meal is included. Of course there is vegetarian alternatives. Coffee, tea or syrup. We then head out to find the beaver during the summer evening. Life vests are included. All transports included during the safari. WOLF HOWLING SAFARI IN TIVEDEN SWEDEN

Join Naturguide Tiveden to get the chance to experience the wolves howling in the territory of the Tiveden wolves in the wild Sweden! We go out into the wolves territory to experience their lands. We track for tracks, droppings and maybe we are lucky to find a prey that they have slain. By the light of the fires flames we listen for the wolves howling.  During the wolf safari we safely and secure stay overnight in tents. Welcome to experience the wolves of Tiveden with us !

This experience focuses on the howling and the lands of the wolves in Tiveden Sweden. Do not expect to see a wolf but occassionally we do. We don´t disturb the wolves.

During the afternoon/evening we go into the territory of the Tiveden wolves to stay in their realm. 2013 a finnish-russian wolf couple were tranfered from Tornedalen in Swedish Lapland down to Tiveden, where they settled. It is these wolves we will watch for and listen to. The latest brood in 2017 the Tiveden wolves got 5 pups. We start with a dinner by the campfire where you get to learn about the wolves, their lives and habitats. The experience continues with a shorter walk where we look for the tracks of the wolf.

It can be foot tracks, dropping or even a slain prey. During the night we set camp and listen to the wolves by the camp fire. We stay overnight in tents, safe and secure. You will fall asleep in the wolf territory. All equipment for the overnight stay is provided by Naturguide Tiveden. On Saturday morning we have breakfast and then head back. To hear one of several wolves howling nearby or in the distance is an experience and a memory you will take with you for the rest of your life!

Tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, pillows and blankets are provided by the guide. All meals are included in experience (1 dinner and 1 breakfast). We have binoculars for all guests.

The deadline for booking is 20 00 o clock the day before. The tour starts at Friday at lunch and ends at Saturday lunch. Good shoes – rubber boots, hiking boots or good sneakers. Warm clothing needed to bring. Rain clothing is good to bring.

Nightjar concert in Tiveden Sweden

At the end of May and in June the mystical European Nightjar starts its special calling at sunset as to greet the summer night. Come along with us to our concert lounge in the wild where we enjoy a dinner. To be continued with listening to the nightjars concert and propably encounter one of the singers!

In  the early summer, at the end of May the European Nightjar returns from Africa (as far as Namibia!) to Sweden and Scandinavia. The mating season starts and continues in June where the males plays their mystical and special calling with start at sunset. Guests usually resembles this unique call as like an alien or a synthesizer concert.

In the old days the people thought that this bird which flew close to the cows at night was a thief milker! In German it is called Ziegenmilcher (the thief milker). The explanation is that the nightjar hunted insects whom where attracted of the cows. The nightjar spends the summer in Scandinavia to breed and nest and winters in Africa.

During the summer the nightjar hunts for insects like crazy during the summer nights. It has got a big mouth to store all the insects. You have got the opportunity to accompany our guide in the early summer night to listens to the nightjars magical concert. The bird is curious and usually do fly-bys or land closely so the chance to see it is good.

We start off at our nature lounge by the fire where you get to learn more about the night jar and its life. We have dinner with drinks and dessert. Of course there are vegetarian alternatives. Coffee tea and syrup is also included. Then we head out to meet the ensemble of the night for the concert. Nightjar concert in the wilderness.

CRAYFISHING AT WITCHES ISLAND TIVEDEN SWEDEN

During this tour you will experience a lot ! Boating on a beautiful lake, trying crayfishing, eating a traditional Swedish crayfish dinner on a remote island where the legends say the witches paused on their route to the Evil One. We will also stay overnight in an old and cosy fisherman’s cabin on the Witches island. Dinner and breakfast are included. By Hasselfors lies the heartshaped lake Toften with its many islands and bays.

Strarting in the afternoon we head out alongside the shores in boat to experience the lakes and it´s beautiful and forest covered beaches on our route towards Boön- Witches island. We reach our destination Witches island. Here is according to local legends, the place where the witches takes a break (checking the broom perhaps) on their way to the Evil One at Blue Hill. The island is since far a central point for the fishing in the lake as there is an old log cabin with two rooms on the island, We explore the island with its´ connection top folklore and fishing finishing with a crayfish dinner and dessert.

Of course soft drinks are included. There after we once again go out with the boat to fish for fish or crayfish by Witches island. During the late night we cuddle by the fire och hopefully enjoy the sunset in the west. We sleep cosy and safely in the cabin. Hopefully no witches have stayed on the island so we won’t be scared by any witchcraft during the night… In the morning we have breakfast, pick up the crayfish traps and head back to land.

You´ll experiences a time of living Swedish history by folklore, tales, fishing and feast traditions!

DEEP FOREST WALK IN TIVEDEN NATIONAL PARK SWEDEN

Join our guided forest bath walk where you experience a part of Tiveden  national park where few go. The focus is for you to find your own little piece of mind where you can relax and enjoy the tranquility of nature. You experience the calm and silence of the wilderness. A simple meal is included too. In a more and more loud and stressed day life and world the need and longing for calm and recovery is big.

We will take you deeper into the forest during this deep forest walk, so that you will be embraced by the healing forces of nature as well as your own calm. Our guide will tell you somethings about the nature you will meet in the beginning of the tour. The main part of the walk is focused on calming down , find your piece of mind and enjoy the silence of nature.

On your blanket you will experience the closeness to nature and you might even fall asleep.
